The award winning author Alex Wheatle MBE presents his one man show detailing his moving autobiographical story of how he became a writer. From the brutality of children’s homes to being on the ‘Frontline’ in riot-torn Brixton. Alex takes audiences on a journey through Britain in the 1980s punctuated by the powerful singing of the lyrics that made him the famous ‘Yardman Irie’ of the Brixton club scene. Inspired by his best-selling novels, Brixton Rock and East of Acre Lane. Directed by Jatinder Verma.

Presented in association with Birmingham Race Action Partnership.
